Six frequently asked website project questions

How long will the project take?

This is one of the questions we’re almost always asked.  When will I get my website?
Of course every project is different but as a guide we usually deliver websites within a time frame of 4 – 6 weeks.
The element that often takes the longest time is getting the content to populate the website with from the client, which is understandable.  As a business owner you’ll already have plenty on your plate and it does take time to get it right.
We’re happy to populate the website with your content ready for launch free of charge and if you are thinking about getting a new website then it’s often a good idea to start thinking about writing the content as soon as the project begins.

When will I get an idea of what it looks like?

We won’t just give you a website at the end of the project that you’ve never seen before.  A key part of our process is the production of visuals for a few of the most important pages on your website (this always includes the home page).
These visuals are created after we’ve met with you and chatted through your business, target market and what it is you’re looking to achieve.
We’ve never had a client not like our visuals and we believe this is testament to taking the time to get to know your business at the very start of the process.

Do I need to do any technical ability or knowledge?

The simple answer is no you don’t.  You shouldn’t have to be an online marketing expert or a web designer to work with us; we’ll take care of all the techy bits and bobs for you.
If you ever have any questions during your website project then we’re always at the other end of the phone to explain and talk you through any queries.  We try to make our website projects as collaborative and as open with our clients as possible.
This includes access to the site as it’s being built, along with weekly updates on how we’re progressing.

Will I be able to update the site myself?

Yes you will.  The internet is immediate and there can be nothing more frustrating than relying on someone else to make updates to your site when you need them.
We use a content management system called WordPress; it’s incredibly easy to use and you’ll be given training from us before launch on how to update and add new pages, blogs and content to your website.

Does your cost increase depending on the number of pages?

Certainly not.  You’re getting a great website and it’s going to be great no matter the size of it.  We don’t like hidden costs and for that reason the cost you are quoted is the cost you are going to pay.  That’s not going to change if you want more pages!

What do I need to pay for once the site is complete?

There are no monthly on-going charges after the project is finished because there doesn’t need to be! Once you’ve got your site you’ll be able to update it as and when you need to.  If you do run into a problem we’ll help you fix it and for small changes and tweaks to content we’ll not be charging.

What if I don’t have any content? Do you help with that?

Hi Mike, Website content is something that we help every client with in a variety of different ways. Each time someone comes to your website looking to make a decision they’ll have a number of factors that will effect the decision they ultimately come to. Some factors will be conscious, others less so. Your website’s ability to communicate and answer their decision needs will be central to converting them from someone that just visits your website to someone who buys your products or uses your services. Before we do anything we take time with our client’s to understand their target market, what makes them tick and what triggers them to make the decisions they make around your products or services. Once we know these we can work with clients to write their content or just focus it more on delivering for them. If two businesses were identical in service or product offering but one communicated that they have what the customer needs better than the other that business will ultimately win the business. This is what we do for our client’s; throw in the best possible design and navigation and you’re working with MiHi Digital!
